The steamboat "Helena", a sternwheel packet with a wood hull, was built in California, Pennsylvania in 1878. In 10 years she made over 50 trips to Montana points under many masters associated with the Power Line. She was sold in 1887 to A.S. Bryan and others, Washington, Missouri. The "Steamer Boston" was a 574 ton sidewheel packet built in 1850 in New York. She ran the coast of Maine between 1855-1863 and later used by the U.S. Navy.
