Blue illustrated boxed corner card on cover to North Cambridge, Mass franked with 1851 3¢ Dull Red (11) tied by bold "Dubuque, Iowa Apr 19, 1857" balloon cds, minor edge wear and small sealed tear upper right, Very Fine and attractive, ex-Risvold and Kramer, Illustrated in Milgram.Milgram No. 755; Estimate $750 - 1,000.A STUNNING COVER WHICH IS THE ONLY RECORDED EXAMPLE OF THIS FANCY ILLUSTRATED DESIGN. The Key City was a side-wheeler of 359 tons built at Cincinnati in 1857 for the Minnesota Packet Co. She was abandoned in 1870.

511Steamer Lac La Belle, Oct. 3, 1865 P. Lake (Great Lakes). Balloon cds on 1864-65 3¢ Pink entire to Eagle Harbor, Mich, pencil notation "groceries", couple light stains and unevenly opened along right edge, still Very Fine, Illustrated in Milgram.Milgram No. 762; Estimate $300 - 400. The wooden single masted propeller "Lac La Belle" was built in 1864 at Cleveland, Ohio by Ira Lafringer. She was one of the first propellers on the Great Lakes to have twin stacks. The Lac La Belle was built as a passenger steamer but converted to a bulk freighter in 1869. She later sunk in 1872 and was a total loss.
